Getting Re-Acquainted Yoga

Sep 28, 2022

There are many people who hesitate to try yoga because of the myths or misconceptions they hear. We want everyone to experience yoga because everyone deserves to feel good physically and mentally.

Yoga is only for women

Yoga may now be more popular among women. But when you trace its origins, you see that many of the great pioneers of yoga were actually men.

So guys, if you've been reluctant to try yoga because it's "only for women," think again.

You have to be flexible

Probably one of the biggest misconceptions about yoga is that you have to be very flexible, however, this is simply not true. In fact, you could almost say the opposite, as yoga helps increase flexibility and range of motion, perfect for anyone looking to improve in this department!

This is one of the most common misconceptions I've heard about yoga.

In fact, yoga involves a variety of body postures. Many of them have really helped us develop our strength and flexibility.

So if I were scrolling through Instagram specifically and typed in "yoga" pieces, most, if not all, of the photos would be of people showing some really nice advanced yoga poses that require quite a bit of flexibility.

So yes, a lot of people think yoga is like that these days.

In a typical yoga class, we practice breathing and some poses that may help improve flexibility and initiation. Some people are naturally more flexible than others. Some people may greatly increase their flexibility with yoga! Others may not.

Of course, more flexibility is required as you move into more advanced poses, but you don't need to worry about it yet. View yoga mat manufacturer to wholesale custom yoga mats.
